Principle 15 - Communicate Externally

Attribute 15.04 - Management obtains information through reporting lines from external parties. Information communicated to management includes significant matters relating to risks, changes, or issues that impact the entity's internal control system. Communication may also include information for the entity to achieve program-related objectives. These communications are necessary for the effective operation of internal control. Management evaluates external information obtained against the characteristics of quality information and information processing objectives and takes any necessary actions so that the information is quality information.

2021: My Journey Begins

I directed questions to the Maricopa County Recorder, expecting a response since this is an elected position. I incorrectly assumed that elected officials would be interested in addressing citizen concerns. There was a brief interface between me and the Maricopa County Recorder. However, there was no response to my inquiries. This Green Book Attribute explains the importance of communications with respect to information for the entity to achieve program-related objectives. My questions were associated with getting process answered to ensure the integrity of future elections. Yet still no response.
